Alex Martin
My name is Alex Martin (she/her) and I am the fundraising co-lead for EWB MUN! I am a term 3 mechanical engineering student here at MUN. I joined EWB to learn more about the world and what we can do, as students, to be more self-aware. I love being able to work with people from different disciplines and even faculties in a strong community environment, all working towards the same goal. My favorite core value is probably to strive for humility since I believe in order to be a change-maker we must be open to new ideas and perspectives and open to our past mistakes so we can learn from them in the future.
Corporate Sponsorship: Andrew Bennett & Heidi Simpson
Heidi Simpson
My name is Heidi (she/her) and I’m one of the corporate sponsorship executives for this year. I’m in term 3 studying mechanical engineering. I joined EWB to learn more about how I can best make a positive impact as I move through the engineering program and my career as an engineer. My favourite core value is “strive for humility” because the best solutions arise when people are able to acknowledge their mistakes and build from them, while remaining open to change.

EWB MUN at our 2019 Chapter Retreat
Between weekly Member Learning sessions and miscellaneous fundraisers, we have several major events we spend time planning. In the fall, catch us rocking out to local bands at Let’s Rock Poverty, or running for our lives at Run 2 End Poverty. In the winter, we gather industry and students together to discuss the higher applications of engineering at our annual Global Engineering Night at Yellowbelly Brewery. Additionally in the winter, we host a Kumvana Fellow and participate in National Conference. Over the summer, we have a full day of member learnings and chapter bonding at Retreat. Join our Facebook group, EWB MUN, to stay up to date with what’s going on!
